If you're looking for a talented communications professional with over ten years experience planning, developing and managing strategies and relationships for public relations, media relations, and community outreach programs, then please consider what I can offer your company, organization or government agency. I also bring extensive experience in marketing concepts and producing high-profile events. I stay abreast of my field and I am as career-committed as it takes to achieve total success.
My professional background spans from the health, environmental and political communities to the entertainment industry. I have produced high-profile events in the entertainment industry, such as the prestigious Women in Film Crystal Awards. I have also managed the public information office for a southern California community. In addition, I have served as a geographic liaison to 28 cities in Los Angeles County for the 4-county air quality control agency in Southern California focusing on educating and informing the public about the health issues related to air pollution. Additionally, I served as the Vice President of a non-profit healthcare advocacy organization in Sacramento, California. I served as the Interim Executive Director for the California Chapter of a non-profit organization.
I graduated from California State University, Northridge with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcasting. I completed courses in Public Relations, Special Events & Fund Raising, Licensing & Merchandising, and Grant & Proposal Writing from UCLA Continued Education. In addition, I am certified from the California Specialized Training Institute (CSTI) in Crisis Communications & the Media.
When asked what my management style is, I would categorize myself as "Success through Empowerment." I believe that if you provide the tools, structure and guidance to effectively complete an assignment and meet deadlines, your team members and projects are more likely to succeed. One of the more important aspects of management is the ability to drive and motivate while enabling everyone to shine. Projects succeed through qualified team members and strong, yet versatile management.
